• The courses are completely managed online, hence it possible for every one to enroll.
• People are not bound by the time and distance and can easily access the on line courses of their choice from their own computer.
• The courses are tailored made to the needs of particular industry and LMS play a critical role by ensuring that all the relevant information is updated on regular intervals and brought to the knowledge of the students.
• The online courses pertaining to Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHO and Red Flag are smoothly managed and can be easily updated on a regular basis. Academic and Employee Development Solution - E-Learning

There are those who would argue that electronic learning should not be over used in the academic world. A lot of people still believe that there can be no substitute to the physical classroom. These people say that the teacher needs to be physically present in order to more effectively convey the lessons and to more efficiently asses the students' skills and level of learning. But of course, there are those who say that e learning is going to replace the old mode of teaching in classrooms. They say that the future is online. Of course, such speculation may just be too far off in the future to have any immediate effect to our existing academic system right now.

However, according to most studies, the effectiveness and power of electronic learning as a tool for education is something that cannot be ignored. A lot of major universities are already creating courses that are completely conducted online. There are many benefits to this. For one thing, this mode of education and professional training is able to cross boundaries of time and distance. These would have been the two biggest constraints that have been a constant problem for classroom based learning and training. This is especially true for working professionals who need or want to take extra courses or training in order to improve their resume and open up more career opportunities. These professionals will not have any spare time to go to class and rearrange their delicate schedule just for that. Also, people living far away from the school will find that e learning may be the best solutions to their problem since in full online classes; there is absolutely no need to get a dorm and stay near the school or even drive to the school everyday.

Three years ago, there are already more than 3.5 million people who are enrolled in online classes in the U.S. alone. And each school year, this number keeps increasing by almost fifteen percent. This trend has been observed for a seven year period. It is drastically different from the usual two percent increases of enrollees in the usual classroom courses. This tells us that there is a definite trend towards online learning courses and the future looks like its going to be the internet. This trend however is more on higher education and is not catching up in the lower levels of education.

There seems to be no end to the advantages that electronic learning can offer. Aside from its use in the academic field, it is also incredibly useful for employee development. This is perhaps where the power of e learning really shines brightly. Imagine the many possible applications that this mode of training can achieve especially for companies that have hoards of employees scattered in far flung offshore locations. Only electronic learning can offer the solution to this kind of set up. Right now, the business world is relying on electronic learning solutions to get to the top. Companies who wish to get an edge and be ahead of their competition utilize computer based online training modules.

Distance Learning - How Does it Work?

I had a 4-year old and studying from home was perfect for my lifestyle at that time. I could study and write my assignments in the morning, when my daughter was in play-school and in the evenings when she was asleep... and I still got to spend all these precious afternoons with her, while I was progressing into a new area of knowledge.

Not only did I learn how to write with the reader in mind - I most certainly did also achieve the knowledge of how to sell my stories and articles.

I sold my first short story to a magazine one month before I completed the course and years later I worked as a free-lance journalist in Southern Spain for five years.

I did 10 units which arrived by post and several assignments which I sent to my teacher.

The distance learning courses today are mostly online - but their structure are build pretty much the same: you get your unit and you deliver your assignment, which your tutor comments on.

The difference is the pace and the online facilities. You download your units from the internet and send your assignments back by e-mail. You then receive comments from your tutor the same way. However online distance learning gives you the ability to chat with your teacher and to interact with other students.

I must say I really enjoyed my course even though I did not have the option to interact online and get inspired by co-student. Buy I did get a lot of communication from my teacher, and that feedback was essential and very inspiring.

If you think you can spend some time in between work or looking after your children studying from home - I can recommend it. All you need is a computer and an internet connection. Have a look at what you can study online: http://fincafantastica.biz/oxford-college-online.html.

Online Study - Contribution of the Internet to the Globalization of Education

Online learning is a new feather in the cap of globalization that has resulted from advancement of the internet. It has broadened the path to higher education for everyone from diverse backgrounds. It is a call for those who have left their studies under unfavorable circumstances back to the world of education. Online study with the essence of traditional education helps many working individuals track the way to career enhancement. The world of online learning is the place where people having almost no time can easily pluck the fruit of theoretical and practical knowledge for self development.

Some think that communication is the only thing lacking in the system of online learning. With the internet, there is no communication gap between the students and the teaching faculty. Internet is the only seamless mode of communication to support transactions between online learners and online instructors. Students are provided with course material in the form of CDs, DVDs and eBooks. CDs and DVDs contain lessons from different faculties in form of audio lectures. Case studies, projects and assignments are delivered through e-mails. Students can have their queries solved and doubts cleared during chat sessions.

There is no limit to the extension of online education. The world of online learning accommodates large numbers of individuals seeking courses in different disciplines. Online courses include diploma, degree, master and PhD programs in both mainstream and vocation disciplines. Personality development training is an online learning program that is popular among professionals of all ages. Professional development of working executives is the focus of courses on personality development. Among online courses are there career training programs as well. Enhancing communication skills, analytical skills and presentation skill is the sole objective of such online programs.

Accreditation of an online university and recognition of an online course should be a matter of consideration with individuals wishing to go for online study. Do not let yourself be a victim of non-accredited online institutes. Make it a must to check whether the college or university of your choice is accredited. Recognition of online courses is necessary to get your qualification recognized by prospective employers. Online learning can be the making of your professional career if you step up cautiously.

Why Adult Learners Do Not Finish Their Degrees

Only 7%, on average, of employees who are reimbursed for education actually take advantage of the Educational Assistance Benefit. Many of the working professionals who start a degree plan will not complete it.

Why Adult Learners Don't Finish Their Degrees
• Employees needing to finish an undergraduate degree may not know if their former credits will transfer or how to make this happen.
• Employees seeking graduate degrees may have an undergraduate degree from outside the US and be unfamiliar with the US college system.
• Employees may be drawn to schools that advertise and not look at other options for their degrees and start a program unsuitable for their needs, background and career goals.
• Employees may be unsure about the best major and how that major aligns with career goals.
• Employees may be unrealistic about adding school time to their busy schedule and can't complete their courses on time.
• Employees may be confused and hesitant about navigating the college maze.

These reasons (and many more) are why many reimbursed employees do not start or finish their degrees. All of the reasons can be resolved if a company hires an Educational Counselor for their employees.

Educational Counseling services can benefit employees and the company's educational assistance program. Educational Advising can:
• Save time off a degree for employees by introducing Educational Options, such as testing out of classes, life and work experience options, military credits and corporate classes.
• Save Tuition Reimbursement dollars (average of 20% off a degree plan), especially for undergraduate degrees
• Help employees select the best degree plan and college, focused on employee goals, background and skills
• Give employees hope they can navigate the college maze, get enrolled and succeed

There are several good educational counseling services for your employees. EduPlan, College Coach and Emcompass Education have the consulting skills to work with your employees and within the Educational Assistance Policy of your company.

Cheap Aromatherapy Courses Online

Aromatherapy Courses don't have to be expensive to be good, but you should know what to look for so you do get quality information. Cheap doesn't always mean you will get value for your money.

Cheap Aromatherapy Courses can be found online but you have to be sure to take the time to find out a little about what is actually being offered.

Some people may unscrupulously sell you a small ebook telling you that it is an aromatherapy course. Others may offer very short courses for cheap.

There are affordable alternatives on the Internet which are both quite cheap compared to others and yet still contain a wealth of knowledge.

Here are a few pointers to look out for when checking out the cheap aromatherapy courses on-line.

  • Is the teacher someone you can find some information about regarding her qualifications etc?
  • Do the courses teach you according to the standards set forth by the National Assosciaton of Holistic Aromatherapists (N.A.H.A.)? They don't necessarily have to be listed with the association but their courses should meet the standards required by them. Many people don' t like to join aromatherapy associations due to the costs of being a member. This helps them to keep their overhead lower and therefore able to offer their courses more cheaper than those who are members. Membership fees and advertising fees with the various aromatherapy associations can add up quickly.
  • Do they teach you to use essential oils safely and effectively. I have seen some cheap courses on-line which recommend Birch Essential Oils and others which are extremely dangerous.
  • Beware of any courses that suggest you ingest essential oils. This is a very dangerous practice and should be avoided completely.

Hopefully these tips will help you find something of what you are looking for which are also worth their value. There are some affordable aromatherapy courses on the Internet if you take the time to search for them. A simple search in Google can usually bring up some good results. Check out the websites offering aromatherapy courses and use the criteria given above and you are sure to find something that is reasonable as well as safe.

Take an Online Course in Responsible Alcohol Retailing

Responsible alcohol retailing is necessary if we as a conscientious society are going to limit the ills caused by alcohol. Drink driving, binge drinking, pavements awash in urine and vomit and alcohol fueled violence are just some of the problems caused by the 'Friday night piss-up'. Many of our young people now routinely drink themselves senseless. There has been much talk about where to place the blame, but rather than engage in finger pointing it is important for everyone to step up and do their part to put an end to the binge drinking culture.

Certainly an argument could be made that it is the drinker themselves that must learn to say 'when'. And although in the general sense that is true, it is a proven fact that too much alcohol impairs judgment. This is where responsible alcohol retailing comes into play. If those selling alcohol are vigilant and aware when a customer has passed the line of reasonable consumption then they can cut the customer off before the inebriation level reaches untenable heights. How do you learn the ins and outs of responsible retailing? Exactly when and how do you cut a customer off?

In Great Britain you have access to NCPLH (National Certification for Personal License Holders) training that is designed to instruct you in the methods of responsible alcohol retailing. For owners and or operators of pubs and other establishments that sell alcohol, this training will answer questions about the problems of binge drinking and give you specific methods for dealing with customers who have over-indulged, those you suspect of attempting drink driving, and violence brought on by alcohol consumption. These courses are designed to teach you how to avoid problems before they start by recognizing common signs and signals that a customer has had too much to drink.

You can study the NCPLH course on responsible alcohol retailing online. This 5 hour course is easy to complete in the comfort of your own home. Use the online practice test to ensure that you are ready and then register to take the official invigilated test at a testing centre near you. The local pub is a sterling part of Britain's character - urinating in the street, drink fueled violence and drink driving are not. Do your part to ensure that your 'local' be it pub, club or restaurant is practicing responsible retailing and helping to eliminate the blight of binge drinking.

Learn2Serve.co.uk offers Resposible Alcohol training course online for owners of pubs and establishments that sell alcohol.

Why is Accreditation Important While Selecting a College?

In the U.S., post-secondary education is not monitored by any specific agency or cabinet. Because of this, accreditation was created so that the quality of education being received by students attending colleges and universities was more transparent. When choosing a degree program, one important factor to consider is to check which agencies have accredited the school or the program in which you are interested. Visit the school's website and look for the accreditation symbols. Most colleges will have a page devoted to accreditation but if you are still not satisfied, contact the issuing authority to find out more information. Even though accreditation may not seem the likely place to begin when investigating your college, it is a reliable starting point of an indication of the institution's academic offerings and to decide whether it's the best investment of your money and time.

So, how does a program get accredited? In short, schools applying for accreditation must provide the following information in order to be considered. They must provide a clear mission statement along with the program outlines and curriculum. Information on the methods of instruction and testing materials have to be mentioned with the necessary study instructions and learning resources. There has to be evidence of proper record keeping and regular student surveys in addition to faculty and administration background information. Only once all this paper work is submitted to the concerned body and approved, can a program receive accreditation. It is obvious then that becoming accredited is a rigorous process and programs that receive accreditation have ultimately proven their worth as legitimate teaching institutions.

But, why go through all this in the first place? Basically, accreditation assures the student of the following:

- That he or she is entitled to equal rights of admission, registration, counseling, placement and orientation as every other student. This is important if you are opting for a long distance learning program.

- If the school or college is not accredited by a nationally recognized accredited organization, the school is then unable to participate in any student aid programs offered by the government. For students, this means that you will not be eligible for any student loans or federal grants. Accreditation also ensures that all Federal Aid funds are being used effectively.

- Future employers will rarely reimburse the tuition of any employee who has attended a school that is not accredited.

- If your career demands a state licensure exam, it is common for states to require that a college, university, or program be accredited before allowing students to acquire licensure.

- Coursework or even a degree from an accredited institution can help you qualify for admission to other higher degree programs.

- Transfer of credits is only possible from one college to another, if both are accredited.

- Applying for a job after you graduate might prove to be difficult if your qualifications or degree has been granted by a school that is not accredited. In short, your entire education might be proved to be a waste of time, effort and money. Most employers review a job applicant's educational history to make sure that he or she has received his or her education from a college, university, or program with accreditation and if not, this could hamper the chances of future employment.

In spite of all the regulations and rules, keep in mind that there are college accreditation associations that are not legitimate. Some colleges - so called 'diploma mills' create their own accrediting authority and then grant themselves "accreditation." So, always be careful and dig deeper when investigating the accreditation of the college of your choice. There are basically only TWO large organizations in the U.S. that recognize accrediting agencies and give them the required validation. These are the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). You can visit US Department of Education website (ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/index.html) and CHEA website (CHEA.org) for a complete list of the accrediting agencies that these two bodies recognize.

To summarize, accreditation is a tool used to evaluate, monitor and assess the quality and standards of education offered by a college or institution. It instills trust in students, parents, and faculty alike that the education being offered is worthwhile and of value. Another objective of accreditation is to achieve positive outcomes in learning. Colleges, whose students consistently fail to achieve a particular level of performance, also come under the evaluation of the accreditation agency concerned.

However, if a college degree program you are interested in does not have a recognized accreditation, it also could mean that the program or institution is new and has not yet met all the minimum requirements for accreditation. You should research the college as much as possible and think of the long term consequences before signing up for anything. Ultimately, it is your education at stake. When in doubt - look it up!

Six Study Tips For the Online Learner

How in the world do you block off time between running around behind the kids, cook dinner, do laundry, prepare for work the next day, sit in unmovable traffic, and attempt an A in a distance learning course? Your study skills are challenged, you have limited time to sit down and prepare resources for a discussion question or a test. So what do you do, you strengthen your study skills with these six easy steps:

1.) Ask family or friends for help. Many of you who have children will definitely need to heed this advice. As a mom myself, it's hard to set aside an hour or two a couple times a week to devote to studying, posting discussion answers and submitting assignments. So, who helps? The spouse and my parents. So parents, who are doing a great justice to your professional growth by pursuing an education online, you need help to manage the children, especially the smaller ones.

2.) Read assigned chapters at least 30-45 minutes a day. Use a highlighter to capture important points. Read over any sentences that may stump you. Write notes or questions to the side that catch your attention to refer back to later.

3.) If there are important concepts to learn or theories to master, make a chart or table to compare or contrast the concepts for the unit your class is working on.

4.) Application of learned concepts. What's the use of learning something if you don't know how to apply them to real life? Write examples on how you would use the concepts on a daily basis or scenerio.

5.) Work the questions at the end of the chapter, even if they are not assigned. This will help you with Tip #4.

6.) Do your best to not study in bed or when you are the most tired. You will not get anything done and you will instantly feel sleepy because you are in a comfortable state. Try a kitchen table or a desk, get some good lighting and play very soft music without words to stimulate your mind. This will help you retain information much better.

Bonus Tip***: Use additional resources that the instructor lists in the syllabus.

Make a routine of your study time, try to find out when you are most alert and motivated. For example, I am a morning person. My study times are mostly done around the morning hours, because at night, I usually set aside time for clients, household duties, and writing articles. Find your time where you are studying effectively. But most of all, make sure you master your learning experience.

Benefits of Taking Online University Courses

The advent of the internet has given students many more opportunities than in the past. The people who feel they couldn't receive an education in a normal classroom now have the chance to get a degree or diploma via an online university. Some people are attached to traditional universities, but nevertheless, there are several benefits of online universities.

1. Unlimited access is provided by online universities. Location does not matter at all for online universities. Regardless of whether you are feeling unwell, paying a visit to a relative who is ailing, or you are away from your local university, you can nevertheless go to an online school. There is no restriction for anyone from attending and this is the advantage of an online university. If you have an internet connection and a computer, you can attend a university online.

2. You can save more money this way. A great way to save money is by utilizing the advantages of online universities. Other than your education fee there is nothing else to be paid. This campus has no library, no recreation room, no janitors! Why? Because it is all online. Enrolling in an online university will not incur any additional fees as you do not have to pay for extra services. Universities online only offer the necessities to students so it permits students to save a great amount of money every year.

3. Scheduling presents no difficulty. Online universities also have the benefit of being flexible. Say that you have a doctor appointment during the 10:00 a.m. class online, you are able to view the recorded lesson via webcast whenever you get home. You can participate in online group chat sessions at late a night, after you finish work and see the messages your classmates have posted several hours earlier. Online university programs do not have rigid schedules. You can have the craziest family and work schedule imaginable, and it won't matter. You can study and take classes on your own time at your own pace. You can have your meetings when it is convenient for you. If you go to school online, you will always be able to reconcile your school schedule and your life schedule.

4. There is access to a better quality of professors. Qualified professors are often enticed to teach at online universities. There is no need to travel to the university each day and so more intelligent and experienced professors are available for online teaching. Students at online universities get the chance to be taught by some of the nation's most elite professors since the location and scheduling is so convenient for everyone. Every year online universities are becoming more popular.Because they provide greater access to the average student as well as the experienced professor, universities online fill in the funding and location gaps that simply cannot be bridged by the traditional education system.

6 Ways to Change Your Ecourse to Make Even MORE Money

I'm often quoted as saying "An Ecourse is the backbone of your internet business." Well, today I'm going to give you a little information as to what I'm talking about. You see, once you create your ecourse, you can repurpose it into several different mediums to give your business more "internet cred" and makes you look more like the expert in your field.

So, let's get into what else you can do with your completed ecourse:

Articles: You can take each episode of your ecourse and turn it into articles to help market your business. Since each episode of the ecourse should be at least one idea on it's own, just turn it into one article. You now have instant FREE marketing!

Ebook: Each episode of your ecourse can be a summary for a chapter in an ebook. All you do is expand on the ideas you've already presented.

Audio Program: You can find several recording devices over the internet. Get one of them, speak your ecourse into the recorder, add that recording to your website and you now have a audio program based on your ecourse.

Teleseminar: Conduct a teleseminar based on your ecourse. Use each episode as a guideline for the teleseminar. You can also use that recorded teleseminar as an additional product on your website.

Mini Guide: Different from an Ebook as this is more like a study guide. Make it like a school-text-book type of product. You can include exercises for the reader to do as well.

Interview: This one requires another person, but the same concept as a teleseminar. Have someone interview you bases on your ecourse. You can even provide the questions you would like your interviewer to ask you.

There you have it, 6 additional ways you can take your ecourse and repurpose it into money making products that have all been proven to sell. Each one of these repurposing ideas has the potential to take your business to new heights.

Should You Pursue an Online Degree Program?

It's not news that getting a college degree will help you financially - this is now common knowledge. And we would all agree that in this global economic crisis, the more education you have the better you'll fare in the job market. But it's worth looking at some of the larger reasons why starting an online degree program is a great idea.

The first reason is that it will force you to learn new things. It's not a pretty thing to admit, but most of us need a little nudge when it comes to learning new things. Human nature, as we all know from personal experience, tends to prefer the easy to the difficult. If you've always dreamed about owning your own business, you'll probably need to read many books and talk to many people - and all of this requires work and effort. If you enroll in an online degree program in business, you'll have a curriculum that will push you along.

Here's one obvious, but often overlooked benefit of going to college - you'll have to read dozens of books. For bookworms this is a pleasing prospect, but for many Americans today, the thought of reading more than a cereal box is not promising. Yet despite our resistance to the time and effort it takes to read, we all know that learning, thinking and knowledge are tied to reading - and overall success in an online degree program.

Did you notice that as soon as you left high school you started doing less and less new things? Do you find that you don't discover new ideas and pastimes the way you once did? If that's the case - don't worry - because in your online degree program, you'll have to take courses that are bound to expose you to new things. Even if you love computers and are majoring in computer science, you'll still have to satisfy a science or English requirement, for example, and you never know what interest that will spark.

The world is not a simple place. Find that you can't always follow the details of the country's economic, financial and political challenges? Perhaps it's because you never took a class in economics or politics. As a university student you'll have to choose a number of electives to gain the necessary credits to graduate, and who knows, you might just take a political science class and get fired up enough to run for city council. Until you've been introduced to a new subject in a thoughtful, engaging way, you'll never know if it's something you'll develop a real interest in.

Perseverance is most certainly a virtue, and if you plan to complete your online degree program, you'll have to develop perseverance. And while it's certainly true that you can develop this virtue in any number of fields or life situations, finishing you degree will require you to make a consistent effort, and in the end, you will only benefit from this kind of effort.

There's no doubt that starting an online degree program is the right move for your financial future, but don't overlook the fact that you'll also have the opportunity to learn and grow as a person and as a citizen as you study for your degree.

Are We Seeing the End of Lead Ammunition?

It was Friday evening and my friend Wayne and I were having one of our usual survival topic conversations and the topic eventually got around to lead shot for shells. It seems that Wayne had notice something somewhere which stated that many of the states are considering banning Lead content in bullets and shotgun shells.

This of course got my creative juices flowing and after our conversation ended I decided to investigate this situation a little bit further. Since lead was a toxic type material it certainly would hold some merit at outlawing it for the sake of the environment and personal health. My first question that I asked myself was what are the alternatives? Do we currently have a lead free bullet at all?

Upon doing my research I discovered that some states such as California has already taken the liberty to ban lead ammunition in any area where endangered California condors may possibly reside. These large birds have been known to feed upon the various scrapes of meat which are usually left behind by the hunters after they field dress their kill. The problem stems from these scrapes containing residual lead shot. Lead position has been cited as the primary cause of Condor deaths in the area. In addition they have expressed some concern about the bullets not only contaminating the ecosystem but possibly affect people as well. Other states are actively promoting the non-use of lead shells and ammo such as Arizona, Utah, Minnesota and North Dakota. It would be only at matter of time before many other states will start to follow suit.

That still did not answer my inquiry as to an alternative material for creating bullets. Additional web searching revealed the use of copper as the alternative of choice for lead. Without doubt whenever there is controversy there are several sides to the issue. Major gun lobbies argue that the bans on lead bullets are simply unfounded and the lead poses no risks what so ever.

Lead free bullets have been around now for a number of years however it is just during the current green demands that they have gained visibility to the public. As any gun fan knows lead is the major component of ammo and has been pinpointed as a compound which lowers the IQ of many children in America today. There are numerous groups which desire to eliminate lead in any way, shape or form in the interests of the habitat and protecting the environment.

Hunters complain that the alternates proposed to replace lead in bullets have increased the cost of the shells. In America alone the gun groups spend in excess of $1.08 billion dollars per year on bullets alone.

As of late there has been a tremendous leap in the number of manufacturers of the lead free ammo. Most of the companies which make the copper bullets claim that the new style ammo outperforms the older lead type. In the market place today you can readily find major name businesses such as Winchester or Remington creating their own lead free ammunition.

It is even getting to the point where some of the nations firing ranges have begun to ban the use of the lead ammo for various safety concerns. Since the largest user of lead ammunition has always been the military is it contended that these lead bullets have contaminate major military training areas across the nation and are quickly becoming the primary concern of many environmental agencies.

Although recent tests and research conducted upon meat shot with lead bullets have been conducted the findings are not completely conclusive. It does appear that the meat can contain some what of an elevated level of lead further testing will need to be completed. Even with these meager facts several health departments have advised that meat shot with lead bullets not be given to high risk groups such as young children or to pregnant women.

Choosing an Online Degree - 5 Tips to Find a Degree Program

If you type "Online Degree Search" into Google, you will get approximately 51,200,000 results. There are dozens of degree programs and online degree search sites that claim to have the right degree for you, but unfortunately many of these recommendations are based on the college's advertising budgets, not their credentials. So how do you know which online degree program is right for you? And where can you find objective information to help you make a decision? The following tips will help you navigate the sea of online degree options:

1. Protect Your Contact Information: Do you know online colleges will spend as much as 100 dollars per name to purchase the contact information of prospective students? When you search for an online degree, remember you have a giant bull's eye on your forehead. Don't be afraid to offer your contact information to colleges you are interested in, but take precautions to prevent unwanted direct mail, spam and telemarketing.

2. Don't Drown in Google Ads: As I mentioned, Googling "Online Degree Search" will yield over 50,000 results. Instead of sifting through these ads one by one, consider narrowing your search by including your preferred degree type and at least two other additional criteria. Also, understand the difference between "sponsored" and "organic" links. The "sponsored" links have paid to be there and may or may not have the most relevant information.

3. Start with a College Matching Service: The best way to get a quick list of potential degree programs is to visit a college matching site. There are dozens of college search sites that claim to help you find the right degree program, but unfortunately, many of these sites base their recommendations solely on the college's willingness to pay for a listing, not students' needs. To get a list of potential degree programs, start with an online degree search that will offer honest and objective recommendations. Avoid college search sites that request your contact information upfront, understand that "sponsored" or "featured" recommendations have paid to be listed there and make sure to read the terms of service.

4. Don't Get Sticker Shock: Students often immediately rule out certain degree programs because of cost, but don't be so quick to give programs the ax. The price of a degree program is affected by many different factors, so don't cross off any degree programs until you fully understand your financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and additional costs that may not be included.

5. Understand Accreditation: One of the biggest mistakes students make when choosing an online degree is ignoring accreditation. Many employers will not hire applicants with non-accredited degrees, nor will most colleges and universities accept non-accredited transfer credits. Additionally, you need to pay attention to the type of accreditation. Most colleges have either regional or national accreditation. There are advantages to both, but make sure you understand which one is right for you.

While choosing an online degree may be overwhelming, choosing the right degree will be well worth it. Happy Hunting!

What is the Goal of Academia?

Have you ever wondered what the true goal of school and college is? Most would say it is to educate the masses, and that indeed, in itself is a completely noble cause, one which should ensure and guarantee the ongoing strength of our nation right? Sure, but there is a lot more to it than that.

The overall goal of academia is not just to educate, it appears to also be to train little humans to be subservient to authority and to execute the future vision that those behind the curriculum demand and want to build, usually out of self-interests (surprise! they are humans).

Additionally, the longer people are in school the longer they are out of the workforce historically and that was also a use of academia, but with demographics changing (cite: Futurecast), shortages in some industries (truck drivers, nurses, law enforcement, auto mechanics, FAA, etc.) that may not work in the future and the list will grow.

Meanwhile we are going to need more technically qualified students in many sectors. For instance the complicated nature of auto maintenance, you practically need a degree in Computer Science. And who is going to fix, maintain, and build all these high tech, nanotech, biotech, robotics, and alternative energy technologies in the future?

America seems to have lost her way in the process of educating our citizenry, indeed in many ways we are failing. We've spent too much time brainwashing our next generation, than actually preparing them for the realities they will face once they graduate and that is really a shame. Think on this.

Why You Should Get a Paralegal Degree Online

There are many different ways, nowadays, to go about getting your degrees. However, one of the best ways to go about getting a degree is to get it online. This is a statement that holds true for paralegal degrees a well. Today we are going to cover the basic information on why you should choose to get your paralegal degrees online. In the end, you will see that online degree classes are just the overall best way for people to get degrees, no matter what field you are trying to get into.

First of all, when you get paralegal degrees online, you get to study when it's most convenient for you! No more trying to get your current job to try and work around your school schedule and so on. Now you can choose to take classes when it is convenient for you, and that means that you can study when you have the time to do so. For example, if you work during the day, then you could take your classes during the night from the comfort of your own home. This pretty much gives everyone the shot to be able to go back to school and do whatever they want to do. For the longest time, paralegal degrees were not offered online. However, nowadays they are, and they are pretty easy to come by. Just make sure you choose to get your online degree from an accredited school.

Not only do you have the ability to study when you want when getting online paralegal degrees, but you also have the ability to study wherever you want! This can be done, because your campus can be located anywhere, or at least anywhere that you can find an internet connection. As long as you are able to find a cable internet connection, you can attend class, submit work, and interact with your teacher. See, a lot of people think that when you take internet courses, you are taking the class alone, however, that is not the case at all. In fact, with online degrees, now you can interact with other classmates and contact your teacher in real time. Of course, you can email your teacher whenever you want to, but if you are online at the same time, you have the ability to actually live chat with your teacher, and it's almost as if they are standing in the same room with you.

The overall best reason to get your paralegal degrees online is because you can choose from a variety of schools. You no longer have to settle with a school, because it's in the area that you live. When you take classes online, you are able to attend those classes from anywhere in the world. You can actually choose a school based on its overall recommendation from other students, and not just choose a school because of its location. This is something that gives you a sense of power whenever you do it. It makes you feel as if you are in control of your own future for the first time in your life.

Making Your College Application Stand Out

Accredited online colleges across the Internet are bombarded with applications for programs all year long. Luckily, because they are accredited online colleges, they generally have more space than a traditional brick and mortar college, but you will still need to go through the applications process. How do you make sure that an admissions officer notices your application? There are hundreds of thousands of applications pouring in, and you need yours to be one of the best so that you can continue your education. Use these tried and true ideas for making your application a success so you can be on your way to a new career.

Most colleges will have you write an application essay. Make sure your essay is well thought out and thought provoking. Plan to spend time on it, and start early so you don't feel rushed. Make sure your thesis is clear and original. Use your transcript to your advantage. Your GPA should be solid and above a 2.0 to be considered. Take challenging classes so that your transcript is more impressive.

If you find that you need letters of recommendation, only include the most enthusiastic letters that are well written by intelligent people. Although your Uncle Bob's opinion of you may be wonderful, it's best to include the recommendation of a trusted and respected teacher instead. Finally, include your activities outside of schoolwork, such as charity work or work in the community. This will show that you have interests and are willing to use them to benefit other people. Good luck with your application!
